Florida Vacation

I finally went to a Disney park, it only took 30 years. It wasn’t exactly the vacation that I was planning, but I did have fun. I took over 550 pictures which now I have to figure out what ones to get developed to go into my scrapbook.

In the time I was there I was able to go to Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Universal Studios Island Adventure. My favorite was Universal Studios. I had so much fun at the Harry Potter part of the park. Butter Beer is actually really good, I like it better than root beer. I also really enjoyed Dr. Suess’s part of the park, I spoke in rhyme for a while after leaving that part. I’m also really glad we decided to go the day before my planned day of Thursday. On Thursday was a horrible thunder and lightning storm that closed Universal Studios. Lightning even hit our hotel. It knocked out the power, telephones, TV, and internet. The power came back on quick due to a generator but it was a really interesting night.

On Saturday it finally stopped raining and I was able to go to the Magic Kingdom. I went by myself as the other people who went with me were busy, but still had a lot of fun. I caught all the pirades, quite a few of the shows, and went on some rides. All it all it was a good day.

Marketing Class…

My current marketing class is having us write papers on marketing cigarettes to 18-24 year olds. I’m having a real problem with this. Not only do I work in the healthcare industry and realize how much this is costing everyone due to the rising costs of treating said patients. But I honestly think that smoking is gross and the smell is just horrendous.

During my research I found this truth ad. It talks about flavored cigarettes (at least Truth understands that they are illegal) which was our original assignment. Maybe if she had really wanted to keep it flavored… she should have switched it from cigarettes to tobacco… which is still legal. Just a thought. Anyway here is the commercial…

Graduation!!!

Okay… so I haven’t posted in awhile. That is because school took over my life. However I am almost done. I’m in my last couple of classes and I walked on May 7th. I am so close to being done with my Masters Degree it’s amazing to me.

I set out two years to complete a goal. I did not know if I would be able to do it. After two years I am so happy to say that I graduated with high honors and that I did it with minimal problems! I was able to keep my health up as much as I could and even with all the stress I was able to keep my seizures at bay. I have good friends and family around me that help support me and get me through it. The late nights and lack of sleep that I have been getting I know haven’t made me always the most wonderful person to be around. I am just so grateful to everyone who supported me and thankful that I was able to complete this wonderful goal!

Happy 30th Birthday… to me. :)

Well… today marks the end of my 5 day vacation… I have had a wonderful time for my birthday 🙂 Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and made it easier to turn 30.

I was able to spend some quality time with my family, long over due. I had a lot of fun going shopping, going out to eat, and playing games with them. Next week my niece turns 1/2 my age… which she kept reminding me off… I could have done w/o that. LOL!

Saturday was my birthday party. It was a lot of fun, crazy scavenger hunt. Videos :S… One in particular… ah well, I will only turn 30 once. When I get a copy of the picture at the restaurant I will post them.

I realized today that I have not downloaded my pictures from my camera in a long time… In fact, it’s been almost a year! That’s what I get for having a huge SD card. So I finally downloaded my new pictures from my camera. There were not a lot that I liked but it made me realize I didn’t have any photos posted on my blog. This is a shame as photos can completely describe some of my misadventures.

So I started a new page entitled Photos. There are several slide shows on there now of pictures throughout the years… I’m hoping to have more tomorrow. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

I realized I haven’t blogged in awhile. I have been so busy with school and work that I haven’t had much time for that. Plus in December the new World of Warcraft came out… and I admit, I got consumed just a little.

Well I have made some resolutions for the new year. 1) to exercise 5 days a week 2) to loose 80 lbs 3) not eat out as much 4) blog more 5) do something nice for me once a month.

So far I have been doing well on the exercising. My body is not happy but it will be. I found when I weighed myself I had already lost 1lb 🙂 so far so good. I am not eating out everyday so yea! I’m blogging now… and well I’ll have to figure out what I will do nice for me at the end of this month. One week so far… I am sure I will keep this up. Yup, yup, yup.

Night of Baking

Tonight I was in a baking mood… Plus, I bought myself a new cookbook full of cookie recepies! I was so excited to try them out…
However, one thing is baffeling me… why did I pick two cookie receipes I most likely will not eat? The first one has honey in it, I do not like honey… the second one didn’t exactly turn out like the picture showed. It is more of the cinnamon color than the sugar color it shows in the picture. Anyway both look good and I even attempted to draw snowflakes in frosting on the cinnamon cookies… Yes those lines are snowflakes, whether they really look like it or not 😛

Halloween is my favorite holiday, so what happened? Of course I get a nasty cold right before it. I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I normally do. Between the coughing and the runny nose I didn’t feel like doing much. But my friends and I did end up getting together and playing games so that was nice. 🙂 I wish I had gotten the video of Loren dancing in his nerd costume to ghostbusters. That was awesome, but alas I couldn’t find my phone in time. But I did get a picture of him with a nerds box on his nose. What a crazy guy 🙂

The week before ellen and I went to witch night at gardner village in SLC. That was a lot of fun. We went shopping and walked around a ton.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. I am already looking forward to next year.

Stats Class…

My stats class is horrible! I had forgotten how much I do not like math 😦 It’s not that I do not understand math it’s that it just seems to take me 10 times longer to do it than other people which then frustrates me because nothing else does. AGGG. Plus I read numbers backwards so it causes a lot of stress. But I keep having to tell myself only 2 more weeks, 2 more weeks, I can survive for 2 more weeks. After that I am officially 1/2 way through my masters program. Yea!

Blog Anniversary and New Beginnings

Yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of my blog 🙂 I started it because I was bored and had nothing to do. Also, a lot of my friends had one and it seemed like a perfectly good idea. I remember one of my friends not liking my title… Mishaps and Misadventures. However to me it fits perfectly. In life there are Mishaps and unfortunately I just have to deal with them, cry about them, and perhaps someday after reading old blog posts, laugh at them. There are also misadventures (or just adventures) but since my name starts with an M, I like to call them misadventures. Creating this blog was definitely a misadventure.

Now onto the future… I had to learn WordPress because Windows Live Spaces has disappeared (or in the process) which at the beginning I hated. Now that I’ve got it down I actually really like WordPress. It does all the things I cursed Windows Live for not doing and a few extra. You just have to know how to work it. So now my blog can finally look as cute as my friends who are on blogspot 🙂

Another new beginning… my life… I am changing things. New clothes, new workout routine, new diet (well I started that almost 2 months ago… still sticking to it :)), hopefully a new outlook. That’s what I’m going for. A new misadventure called life.
